Expert Reviews
The additive was launched in 2008 and has been promoted as “the safest and most advanced scientific development possible”. MusclePharm started an active marketing campaign in 2009 and became the Brand of the Year on Bodybuilding.com. The company specialized in sports nutrition to improve endurance and strength, so the Assault was one of the key products in the line.
Assault is essentially a classic pre-workout routine with standard ingredients. No particular innovation. Nevertheless, the balanced composition and high quality allowed the product to quickly become the leader.
In 2012, the composition and design of the product was updated:
- portion sizes have decreased, while the relative cost has increased significantly. One jar now contains a total of 16 scoops.
- the composition of the creatine mixture has changed (only monohydrate and Con-Cret – creatine hydrochloride remained ).
- increased BCAA content to 6 g per serving (3: 1: 2 ratio)
- added electrolytes
- Astragin – a component of ginseng
Judging by the reviews, Assault’s stimulating activity is rated as moderately low. Many people are not satisfied with the taste. In fact, you can independently combine the components at a much lower cost, this will require:
- Creatine Monohydrate – 1 teaspoon
- BCAA – 1 teaspoon
- Beta Alanine – 4 g
- Caffeine – 100 mg
- Ginseng and Rhodiola Extract – 1 serving each
- Vitamin and Mineral Complex – 1 serving
The rest of the components play a secondary role, or have no proven effectiveness at all. Read: Sports energy at home
Side effects
Like other similar products, due to the mixing of a large number of components, it often causes side effects (in about 5-10%): nausea, indigestion, dizziness, feeling unwell, impaired consciousness. Most often, negative reviews are associated with side effects.
